Zelenskyy describes his meeting with Erdoğan: Extremely comprehensive

Stating that they discussed the meeting between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul, Zelenskyy said, "An important achievement of that meeting was the prisoner exchange, but unfortunately, that was the only concrete result."

A ceasefire is necessary to move toward peace. The killings must end. We discussed the possibility of a next meeting in Istanbul and the conditions under which Ukraine would be prepared to participate in such a meeting. We agree that this meeting cannot and should not be an empty gathering without substance. We also discussed the possibility of organizing a four-party summit with the participation of the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Türkiye, and the United States of America," he stated.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy added, "We also evaluated Türkiye's participation in the Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit. I am grateful for the steps and ideas that could lead to the necessary results."

Zelenskyy also made a statement regarding his meeting with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Kyiv today, saying, "Today, during the Turkish Foreign Minister's visit to Ukraine, we discussed diplomacy, all existing real opportunities, and what needs to be created. I also had a productive meeting with US Senators Graham and Blumenthal. I thank them for their support for Ukraine, their commitment to diplomacy, and their efforts to bring moral clarity to the situation."

"IT IS RUSSIA THAT MUST STOP THE DESTRUCTION OF LIVES"

Emphasizing that it was Russia that started the war, Zelenskyy said, "It is Russia that must stop the killings and the destruction of lives. It is very important that this fact be clearly stated in the media, in Congress, and in all influential bodies of the world. If Russia continues to speak in the language of ultimatums and tries to force the world through blackmail with the threat of continuing the war, it must receive a strong response. This response must come from the US, Europe, and everyone who wants peace and has declared their support for a ceasefire and diplomacy."
