Zelenskyy says they want to end the war quickly and fairly this year

Zelenskyy spoke at the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Davos, Switzerland.

Noting that the eyes of the whole world are on the US as Donald Trump prepares to take office, Zelenskyy said he is curious about the decisions Trump will make and how he will stop the wars.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy pointed out that Trump has already revealed his clear priorities with his initial decisions.

Recalling that he had previously spoken with Trump about the Russia-Ukraine War, Zelenskyy noted that Trump has also made statements indicating he wants to end the war.

Zelenskyy stated that he told Trump they want to end the war this year not only quickly but also fairly.

Arguing that some people provide Trump with incorrect and "pro-Russian" information regarding Ukraine, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of providing the US President with accurate information.

CALL FOR ESTABLISHING A JOINT AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM

Stating that Europe must strive to be a leader in global politics, Zelenskyy pointed out that during wartime, every ally has concerns about whether the US will stand by them.

Zelenskyy said, "So, is there anyone in the US who worries that Europe will one day abandon them, that they will stop being allies? The answer is no. Washington does not believe that Europe can really bring anything important to them."

Underlining that European countries must unite to shape history, Zelenskyy expressed that joint air defense systems should be created for Europe's security.

Zelenskyy said, "We need to start the joint production of air defense systems that provide reliable protection against all types of cruise and ballistic missiles. Europe needs its own 'Iron Dome' capable of countering all kinds of threats."

Reminding that Russia has signed new strategic agreements with Iran and North Korea, Zelenskyy said this poses a threat to the US and Europe.

Zelenskyy pointed out that Russia has the capacity to produce more weapons and ammunition than all of Europe combined.

Claiming that Russia has the capability to deploy 1.5 million soldiers today if necessary, Zelenskyy stated that European countries must unite and defend themselves to ensure their security.

Recalling that Russia launched its attack on his country in 2022 with approximately 200 thousand soldiers, Zelenskyy claimed that Russia currently has 608 thousand soldiers in Ukraine.

Stating that the aid promised by allies has not yet been fully delivered to his army, Zelenskyy said that without support and security guarantees for Ukraine, other countries could face the danger of Russian aggression in the future.
