Zelenskyy speaks at Defense Industry Forum: Russia is planning attacks against NATO
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that, according to the intelligence they possess, Russia is planning attacks against NATO.
Zelenskyy delivered a speech addressing participants of the general session of the Defense Industry Forum, held within the scope of the NATO Hague Summit.
Reminding that the Russia-Ukraine War is ongoing, Zelenskyy thanked the allies supporting his country.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia is using weapons produced by Iran and North Korea in its attacks on his country, and noted that some Chinese firms are also providing support to Russia regarding weapons production.
Stating that this situation poses a threat to the security of all of Europe, Zelenskyy called for increased pressure through sanctions on firms that assist Russia in weapons production.
"WE CAN PRODUCE 8 MILLION DRONES PER YEAR"
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy also noted that weapons production must be increased to prevent Russian attacks.
Calling on NATO countries to invest in Ukraine's defense industry, Zelenskyy stated that they have an annual weapons production capacity of approximately 35 billion dollars.
Zelenskyy said they are capable of producing about a thousand types of weapons, stating, "For example, we can produce about 8 million drones of various types per year, but we have funding for a much smaller number."
"RUSSIA IS PLANNING ATTACKS ON NATO"
Zelenskyy argued that the Russia-Ukraine War is a threat not only to Ukraine but also to NATO countries.
Stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to prolong the war, Zelenskyy said, "There is no sign that Putin wants to stop the war. Russia rejects all peace proposals, including those coming from the EU."
Zelenskyy stated that Russia is planning to carry out attacks against NATO, saying, "Our intelligence confirms this. Russia is planning new military operations on NATO territory."
Stating that this situation does not only concern Ukraine, Zelenskyy commented, "What is happening in our country right now is part of the preparation for future military actions against NATO countries."
