LEGAL PROTECTION FOR PHONE HOLDERS AND CAMERAS
According to the latest legislative amendment, phone holders attached to the windshield that do not restrict the driver's view, as well as dash cams, have been removed from the list of prohibited equipment. At the same time, navigation screens and digital displays that come factory-installed will also be legally permitted. In this context, the use of navigation or security camera systems has been placed on a legal footing.
MEASUREMENT CRITERIA FOR ACCESSORIES ON THE REARVIEW MIRROR
According to the report in Birgün, the legislation also clarified measurement criteria for air fresheners and ornaments hung on the rearview mirror, which have long been a subject of debate in vehicles. The use of accessories that do not obstruct the driver's field of vision and do not exceed the height limits set in the regulation will be permitted.
NEW LIMITS SET FOR AUDIO SYSTEMS
In addition to digital equipment, a number of innovations have been introduced regarding audio systems in vehicles. It will now be possible to use one subwoofer with a maximum value of 45 Hz and a single amplifier with a maximum of 300 watts, provided that there is no more than one in the trunk section of each vehicle. Audio systems are permitted within these limits; however, if the sound from the devices spills outside and disturbs the environment, a penalty may be applied if a concrete determination is made.
DRIVING ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS PERMITTED
With the latest regulation, driving assistance systems that the driver needs during a journey have also been secured. The use of driver assistance screens, screens for parking or navigation purposes, and internal/external camera and recording devices inside the vehicle has been completely permitted. Thus, uncertainties regarding the use of technological equipment have been eliminated.
