Leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has decided to halt plans to build a major factory in Mexico due to geopolitical tensions caused by the trade policies of U.S. President Donald Trump.
While the company stated that it remains interested in expanding across the Americas, it has not yet set a definitive timeline for a new investment.
Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD, emphasized that the automotive sector is significantly affected by geopolitical issues, stating, "Many companies are currently re-evaluating their strategies in other countries. We also prefer to wait for more clarity before making our decision."
