Amazon will begin selling Hyundai cars online starting in 2024.

In a statement from Amazon, it was announced that for the first time in 2024, car dealers will be able to sell vehicles to Amazon users in the US, and that Hyundai is the first brand available for purchase under this scope.

The statement noted that this new digital shopping experience will make it easier to buy a new car online, and that customers will be able to search for available vehicles in their area on Amazon based on various preferences, including model, trim, color, and features.

The statement indicated that customers will be able to make payments online using their chosen payment and financing options, and then pick up the vehicle from local dealerships at a convenient time or have the vehicle delivered to them.

The statement also provided information that Hyundai has chosen Amazon's cloud unit, AWS, as its service provider to accelerate its digital transformation, and that as part of the new multi-year agreement, Hyundai will become a more data-driven organization with a cloud-first technology strategy and will migrate its existing internal applications to AWS.

The statement expressed that next-generation Hyundai vehicles will be even more responsive and interactive with Amazon's artificial intelligence assistant, Alexa, and reported that starting in 2025, those who purchase Hyundai's next-generation vehicles will be able to access the Alexa experience in their cars as well.

The statement emphasized that Hyundai drivers will be able to ask Alexa to play music, podcasts, or audiobooks, and noted that they will be able to receive reports such as current traffic updates or weather forecasts.

In the statement, which included his assessments, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy pointed out that Hyundai is an innovative company and stated that this partnership will provide opportunities such as changing the ease with which customers buy vehicles online and making it easier to use Alexa in Hyundai vehicles for entertainment, shopping, and calendar controls.
