Honor introduces eye-tracking car control technology!
Honor has unveiled its eye-tracking car control feature on the Magic 6 Pro. The technology uses selfie cameras and artificial intelligence to allow drivers to control their vehicles with their eyes.

On Sunday, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, the company's Magic 6 Pro device was introduced internationally. As part of the press conference, Honor showcased its eye-tracking car control technology on its smartphone.
The phone uses its selfie cameras and artificial intelligence to track where your eyes are looking on the screen. A demo featured an application used to control a vehicle. The application includes four commands: start engine, stop engine, reverse, and forward. Notably, Honor released a video demonstrating how a person could perform a function, such as making the vehicle move forward, by staring at a command.
No information was provided on whether this feature would actually be released with a car manufacturer, but Honor is looking to showcase new technologies in its devices at a time when smartphone manufacturers are trying to outdo each other with artificial intelligence features.
Huawei was forced to sell Honor to a consortium of buyers in 2020 to prevent it from being harmed by US sanctions. Since then, Honor has been trying to grow in the premium segment by launching devices, including foldable phones.
Honor is currently the fourth-largest smartphone manufacturer in China, but it remains small on a global scale. It hopes that future-oriented features like eye-tracking will help increase the smartphone's appeal. Honor stated that this feature is still in the testing phase and provided very few details about the technology.
