With a new regulation prepared by the Ministry of Interior and published in the Official Gazette, new rules have been introduced for tracking and camera systems as well as emergency buttons that must be present in vehicles. This regulation will be effective immediately for newly registered vehicles.

For vehicles already on the road, a specific transition period is envisioned. It is planned that these systems will become mandatory by January 1, 2026, for 2025-2023 model vehicles; by January 1, 2027, for 2022-2018 model vehicles; and by January 1, 2028, for 2017 and older model vehicles.

On the other hand, a temporary arrangement has been made for school buses. School buses registered between February 18, 2025, and October 1, 2025, that possess camera systems compliant with current legislation will be exempt from the new requirements until December 31, 2027.

This new regulation will be implemented by the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
