The market for exclusive license plates in the United Arab Emirates, which attracts as much attention as luxury cars, has returned to the spotlight with P7, which is recorded as the world's most expensive license plate. The plate, which was sold at the “Most Noble Numbers” charity auction held in Dubai, was spotted this time on a specially customized Tesla Cybertruck.
The exclusive plate, consisting only of the characters “P7”, found a buyer at the auction for 55 million UAE dirhams. The sale price, which corresponds to approximately 13 million euros, earned the plate a place in the Guinness World Records.
THE PLATE CAN BE USED ON DIFFERENT VEHICLES
It was stated that all proceeds from the auction were donated to the “1 Billion Meals” campaign, which aims to fight global hunger. In this respect, the sale stood out not only for its record in the luxury consumption sector but also for its charitable dimension.
In the UAE, the fact that special license plates are registered to individuals rather than vehicles allows the same plate to be used on different cars. It was reported that the P7 plate had previously appeared in the press on a Tesla Model X, and was most recently seen on a Tesla Cybertruck customized by Mansory.
While supercars have become a part of daily life in cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, low-digit and special combination license plates are also considered a powerful status symbol in the region.
