Hürriyet newspaper Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan, in his column today, shared his behind-the-scenes information regarding the Istanbul candidate, whom AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said he would "announce on Sunday," and the Ankara candidate, whom he said he would "announce in Ankara."
Hakan stated the following in the relevant section of his article:
"AK Party Istanbul candidate: Murat Kurum. - AK Party Ankara candidate: Turgut Altınok. Is it certain? Of course not. It is not certain until the very last moment. But I can write the probabilities as percentages like this; the probability of Murat Kurum being the candidate is 75 percent. The probability of Turgut Altınok being the candidate is 75 percent. Please consider the minus 25 percent as a margin of caution."
