Gazete Pencere columnist Nuray Babacan drew attention to the 'defeat' discussions in AKP circles with 26 days left until the local elections.
GEZERAVCI AND KAAN
Babacan listed the criticisms she gathered under 3 main lines as follows:
1- We could not find and field ideal candidates. More than the incorrect determination of candidates, we experienced the problem of candidate nominees not being good enough. We could not find strong and dynamic names. Each candidate was nominated because they were better than the others.
2- What we promise in campaigns feels very familiar and well-known to the public. After so many elections, there is no new word left to say. Since we have just come out of the general elections, everything feels familiar to the voter. There is a credibility problem.
3- The perception used against the opposition in the last elections, that 'they are collaborating with terrorists,' no longer works. The steps taken in the fields of security and defense do not create enthusiasm as they used to; they remain in the shadow of the economic crisis. The wind created by the Turkish astronaut and the first fighter jet Kaan only goes so far.
