Behind the Scenes: Dates for CHP's mayoral candidate announcements have been set!

Turkey will head to the polls for local elections on March 31, 2024. While political parties continue their work, mayoral candidates are also being announced.
Journalist Barış Yarkadaş shared behind-the-scenes information regarding the local elections on the Eşit Ağırlık with Erdoğan Aktaş program broadcast on tv100.
Announcing the date when the CHP will reveal its candidates, Yarkadaş stated, "The CHP will convene its Central Executive Board (MYK) and Party Assembly on January 3 and will announce a portion of the mayoral candidates for municipalities not currently held by the CHP. It is expected that over 200 mayoral candidates will be announced."
Yarkadaş continued his remarks as follows;
“Towards the end of January, candidates for critical districts that the CHP believes it can win will be announced. For example, in Istanbul... districts like Üsküdar and Sancaktepe. On February 8 and 9, candidates for municipalities currently held by the CHP will be announced.”
