Early election detail... Inside track: CHP is calculating how to pull Erdoğan into the ring!

BirGün columnist Nurcan Gökdemir wrote that following the March 31 local elections, during a period the CHP calls "normalization" and the AKP calls "softening," the CHP wants to pull President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan into the ring one last time.

"THE ELECTION AGENDA WILL BE REVIVED"

The relevant section from Gökdemir's column is as follows:

"The CHP is now waiting for the return visit that Erdoğan promised to make. Özgür Özel believes this visit will take place, but the meeting date he anticipates is mid-June.

When we asked, recalling the seating crisis at the AKP Headquarters, 'If Erdoğan comes to the CHP Headquarters, where will he sit?', Özgür Özel pointed to the empty space right next to the single chair that stands in the middle of the chairman's office and which he uses during meetings, saying, 'We will put another chair here'... as if to emphasize the equal status of the main opposition to the government in a parliamentary regime...

We can say with certainty that the CHP is making preliminary preparations to revive the election agenda at the appropriate time. Based on the reality that the government is in its weakest period and the CHP is progressing by increasing its votes after the local elections, evaluations are being made on the timing that will fill its sails with this wind.

One of the main dynamics of the early election search, which is still at a very raw stage, is Erdoğan's candidacy. It is foreseen that under today's conditions, the AKP would not be able to say 'No' to an early election decision that could pave the way for Erdoğan to run for office once again.

"CANDIDACY" OPPORTUNITY FOR ERDOĞAN

It is evaluated that it would be appropriate for Erdoğan to face the CHP's candidate instead of a relatively less worn-out name like Selçuk Bayraktar or Hakan Fidan.
