Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan and her family are at the center of new allegations.

According to a report by Altan Sancar from PolitikYol; it is alleged that the bank's General Manager of Data Governance and Statistics and Bilal Erdoğan's school friend, Dr. Yusuf Kenan Bağır, was dismissed and returned to his post two days later.

THE BANK EMPLOYEE WAS A WAITER

According to the claim, the bank employee whom Erkan's father allegedly slapped was a waiter. Following an argument with the waiter regarding a meal, the general manager of the unit to which the waiter belonged objected to the slap from Erkan's father, leading to the manager's dismissal and escalating the controversy.

THE 'BILAL ERDOĞAN' CLAIM

On the other hand, shortly before the slapping allegation came to light, Erkan had dismissed the bank's General Manager of Data Governance and Statistics, Dr. Yusuf Kenan Bağır, for two days. Bağır's name was even deleted from the phone directory, but he was reinstated to his position within two days.

According to bank sources, the name of Bilal Erdoğan, the son of AKP President Tayyip Erdoğan, was influential in Bağır's reinstatement. This is because Bağır attended Kartal Anatolian Imam Hatip High School during the same period as Bilal Erdoğan and is friends with him. It is still being discussed that this dismissal led to increased tensions within the bank.
