BİM Turkey CEO Haluk Dortluoğlu announced that the company currently has 380 branches in most provinces of Turkey and that they aim to strengthen their presence in new provinces to take advantage of the market's consumer power.
When asked whether the company currently has plans to build factories in Egypt, BİM officials replied, "The company prefers to invest in the retail sector by collaborating with major manufacturers in various sectors, and there are no production plans at this time."
'NUMBER OF BRANCHES TO BE INCREASED TO 1,000'
BİM Egypt strives to support local producers by including products with a high rate of local production in its stores. The company plans to provide employment for approximately 7 thousand people by increasing the number of its branches in Egypt to 1,000.
12 THOUSAND BRANCHES IN TURKEY, 800 IN MOROCCO
Turkey's Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Mutlu Şen, during a visit to BİM Egypt's headquarters and warehouses, stated that BİM and other Turkish companies have many stores in Egypt, including brands such as "Defacto" and "LC Waikiki." Şen said that BİM has 12 thousand branches in Turkey and approximately 800 in Morocco.
Şen also emphasized that Egypt is one of the best investment destinations for Turkey, adding that 95% of the products sold at BİM Egypt are locally produced.
Established in 2013, BİM Egypt had 380 stores as of June 2024 and employs more than 2,476 people.
