Demirören Holding executive declared bankrupt

A bankruptcy ruling has been issued for Fikret Tayfun Demirören, a member of the Board of Directors of Demirören Holding. The court decision was announced to the public via ilan.gov.tr.
According to the report in Diken, the announcement included the following statements:
"By the Istanbul 1st Commercial Court of First Instance, in the file numbered 2025/30 Basis dated 18/12/2025, it has been decided to open the BANKRUPTCY of FİKRET TAYFUN DEMİRÖREN, holder of T.R. Identity Number 35983077046, as of 17:05 on 18/12/2025."
Under the same decision, the bankruptcy of Mikare Gayrimenkul Ticari ve Sınai Yatırımlar Anonim Şirketi, which is owned by Tayfun Demirören, was also ordered.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
Tayfun Demirören was arrested on February 15, 2025, on allegations of issuing bounced checks.
According to the finalized decisions in the file, it was determined that Demirören had issued two separate bounced checks in the amounts of 43 million 700 thousand liras on January 10, 2024, and 22 million 770 thousand liras on February 5, 2024. The judicial process was initiated upon the application of the party to whom the checks were issued.
In two separate decisions finalized on November 22, 2024, the court ordered a total judicial fine of 66 million 770 thousand liras to be imposed on Fikret Tayfun Demirören.
Demirören had been released with a decision rendered on February 16.
