Established in 1997 through a partnership between Hyundai Motor Company and Kibar Holding with an investment of 180 million dollars, the factory initially had a production capacity of 50 thousand vehicles, which was increased to 100 thousand in 2006 and to 210 thousand with investments in 2013. With the latest improvement and efficiency studies, a production capacity of 245 thousand units has been reached.

The company's new title will be officially used as of 2025, coinciding with Hyundai Motor Company's shareholding ratio reaching 97%.
