Süleyman Karakan, founder of Doğuş Çay, passes away

Süleyman Karakan, the founder of Doğuş Çay, one of Turkey's leading tea producers, has passed away at the age of 71. The death of Karakan, who had been a respected figure in the industry for many years, has left the business world and his loved ones in mourning.

A funeral ceremony for the late Süleyman Karakan will be held today at the Marmara University Faculty of Theology Mosque following the afternoon prayer. Following this ceremony, Karakan's remains will be laid to rest.

The passing of Karakan, who was frequently praised for his contributions to the tea and industrial sectors, has caused deep sorrow within the Doğuş Çay community and his family. Playing a decisive role in the company's development, Karakan had brought significant value not only to the sector he was involved in but also to society through his leadership and vision.

The following statement was included in the condolence message published by Doğuş Çay:

"As Doğuş Çay, we have learned with deep sorrow of the passing of our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Süleyman Karakan.

Süleyman Karakan, who had great efforts in the establishment, development, and success of our company today, and who guided Doğuş Çay with his vision and strong leadership, has added unique values not only to our family and company but also to our country's industry and society, and has always been an example and source of inspiration for us. We will keep alive the gratitude and respect we feel for our precious founder, who will always hold a place in our hearts with his principles and philanthropy.

The funeral of the deceased will be sent off to his eternal resting place following the afternoon prayer to be performed at the Marmara University Faculty of Theology Mosque on Thursday, March 26.
