Nike has officially announced that it has entered a global restructuring process and will be significantly reducing its workforce accordingly.
In a note sent to staff by the company's Chief Operating Officer Venkatesh Alagirisamy, it was stated that the new strategic steps would lead to changes in the organizational structure, certain teams, and work locations.
In the statement sent specifically to personnel, it was emphasized that the primary reason for these adjustments is to strengthen the company, improve its competitive structure, and create a sustainable, profitable growth model.
It is planned that approximately 1400 people will be laid off, and it was stated that this downsizing would be concentrated particularly on employees in the technology department.
This decision by Nike, which also has stores in Turkey, coincides with a period in which the company is making significant changes to its global strategy.
