Can Saraç, who began his education at the Istanbul University State Conservatory Piano Department under Dr. Fulya Tezer, has been continuing his career for the past 3 years as a student of Prof. Michael Schafer in the Gifted Youngsters Program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.

Saraç has returned home with first-place awards for his solo and duo performances in international competitions held in many countries, primarily in Germany, Italy, Spain, Macedonia, and Bulgaria.

The young artist, who continues to perform concerts both domestically and abroad, spoke to an AA reporter about his work and goals before his solo recital at the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) Ada Ankara Bankkart Blue Hall.

Saraç stated that he began his piano education at the age of 5 with the guidance of his family, and shortly after, he began dreaming of performing in the world's great concert halls with the best orchestras and setting new goals for himself.

'I FEEL LIKE I AM IN A DIFFERENT WORLD WHILE PLAYING'

Expressing that he forgets everything outside and focuses on the piece he is working on while practicing piano and during his concerts, Saraç said, "During a concert, you present the repertoire you have worked on to the audience there. I feel like I am in a different world while playing."

Stating that while he receives piano training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, he is also an 11th-grade student at Istanbul Kültür College, Saraç noted that he has been traveling to Munich on average 3 times a month for his lessons for 3 years, and that while this pace was challenging for him at first, he got used to it after a while.

The young pianist emphasized that performing a concert with Russia's legendary Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Cemi'i Can Deliorman, in recent months was a valuable experience for him.

'SOMETHING EVERY MUSICIAN DREAMS OF'

Conveying that the concert he gave with the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Deliorman was a good experience before his Russia concert, Saraç said, "Performing a concert with the Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra at the Mariinsky Theatre concert hall was very exciting. This is something every musician dreams of. It is a separate happiness to have realized this dream for myself."
