The new season play 'Limonata', written by Levent Tülek and directed by Ali Şahin, was removed from the repertoire after playing to sold-out audiences three times.

Subsequently, Bodrum City Theaters terminated the employment of five people from the same play's team. Ali Şahin, Duygu Şen Benveniste, Barış Hayta, Yerkan Kahraman, and Sinem Kurt are among those names.

According to Işıl Çalışkan from Birgün; Duygu Şen Benveniste, one of the artists whose employment was terminated, claimed that they were forced to resign and were then fired without any justification provided.

Benveniste described what happened as follows:

"We are a team that has received theater training and has been doing theater for years. We produced this play without receiving support from the municipality. Afterward, they gave us a very ridiculous amount of money. The play received praise, including from the Mayor. We held a meeting with the mayor for the improvement of the theater. General Artistic Director Filiz Çevik told us that 'the theater would be managed with military discipline.'

Two of us friends said 'we resign' and left the hall. The next day, we stated that we were forced to resign. Since we did not submit a written resignation, we learned when we consulted with a lawyer that this was not valid. The next day we went to work, but our play was removed citing technical reasons without any prior notice to us. Everything was done to get us fired."
