Artist Hilal Sezginsoy’s 'The Others', described as "Turkey's first guerrilla street exhibition" where she depicts the beauty of the ugly by drawing deformed bodies, has met art lovers as part of the Shine Interdisciplinary Online Group Exhibition on the Kalopsia Art Gallery website.

Hilal Sezginsoy made statements regarding the exhibition, which can be viewed until December 24, 2023.

'I AIMED TO RAISE AWARENESS'

Sezginsoy stated, "The works I wanted to exhibit under the name 'The Others' are actually an installation born out of a reaction, aiming to raise awareness about the need to change our perspective on different appearances.

I exhibited my works by walking the streets in many districts of Istanbul. I evaluated the viewers' gazes and reactions one-on-one with them.

Taking these very beautiful and valuable reactions with me, I have started preparations for my 2nd guerrilla street exhibition," she said.
