A press conference was held at Zorlu Center regarding the film's re-release, with the participation of producers Saner Ayar and Hakan Karamahmutoğlu, and TÖZOK President Zafer Öztürk.
Speaking at the meeting, Karamahmutoğlu stated that the film will be re-released on April 19, saying, "It gives us pride to present our Ata's legacy with such a work. As a result of the project we carried out with TÖZOK, we are bringing Atatürk II back to life with opportunities that will benefit all our youth."
"THE FILM'S GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION IS BEING ACTIVELY BLOCKED"
Saner Ayar also drew attention to the major obstacles they faced in the production and distribution of the film, explaining the following:
"We brought this film to life with the support of the entire production team and our Ministry of Culture and Tourism. However, the distribution of this film globally is being blocked in a very organized manner, to the point of personal attacks against us. We thought about why it is being blocked and reached a conclusion. If the world gets to know Atatürk, it will love him, and it will not be able to stop this contemporary country he founded from being an example to other societies. For this reason, we want every Turkish child to watch these films and explain Atatürk well to the whole world. At this point, TÖZOK has created the ground where everyone can get to know Atatürk. As producers, we have waived all our profits on this matter. With a recommended price of around 60 liras, students all over Turkey have become able to watch Atatürk through school organizations."
Ayar stated that the film's release schedule covers the period between April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day and May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
Regarding the continuation of the film, Ayar said:
"Technically, all data says 'do not make the third film.' Because you cannot distribute it to the world. No platform in the world wants to broadcast this work. You want to hold galas, but theaters cancel them because they receive threats. Foreign distribution companies do not distribute our film due to pressure and threats. When you line these up on paper, you shouldn't make this film. But if Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his friends had written down 'why shouldn't we start this struggle' when they set out, they would have had many, many more reasons than we do. That is why we will make this film."
"WE DESIRE THAT EVERY TURKISH CHILD DEFINITELY WATCHES THIS FILM"
TÖZOK President Zafer Öztürk said that he sees delivering the film to children as a national duty.
Öztürk noted the following:
"We are here to convey Atatürk to Turkish children as he deserves. One of the important concerns of us educators is to raise future generations. As the Turkish nation, we are a nation that has a past, roots, and produces such great leaders. As TÖZOK, we are an umbrella association that includes a large part of private schools in Turkey, but this is just a beginning. We desire that not only children going to private schools, but every Turkish child in Turkey definitely watches this film as an important part of their education."
