Singer and songwriter Deniz Tekin announced that she is ending her music career, stating, "I want to follow a different path now. I am stopping making commercial music. Perhaps I will share my recordings with you in the future, but I will no longer earn an income from this profession."
The 26-year-old musician and songwriter Deniz Tekin announced that she has quit music in a post on her Instagram account. Stating that she has decided to end the music career she began in 2015, Deniz Tekin included the following words in her statement:
"Dear listeners,
The end of the journey between 2015-2024 came with our Dorock XL concert. During this time, I had many experiences related to music; I fell, I got back up, there were the ups and downs of life. Now I have reached the end of this journey and will turn in another direction. I have felt burnout a few times recently, and I know that I can no longer find myself functional in concerts. Over these more than ten years, we have developed music in many ways, both on stage and in the studio, together with myself and countless people. I am grateful to you for accepting us in every form. Behind and in front of the stage, we shared this music with the listeners, and most of the time I felt happy about it. Making music from the age of 16 to 26 was a very profound experience. Although it was often stressful, it was instructive.
I want to follow a different path now. I will not make commercial music. Perhaps I will share my recordings with you in the future, but I will no longer earn an income from this profession. Music and poetry are powerful enough to change our lives. However, turning it into a commercial commodity and subjecting it to mass production is not sustainable for me. This pace tires me out. We recently released a major album, and I have been working non-stop for almost 9 years. I do not have the strength to endure this pace right now. I am not thinking of returning to the stage. Under today's conditions, what is desired is not my musicianship. I send my love to you all. If what I have told has found a resonance in your lives, that makes me happy."
