Famous folk singer Kahtalı Mıçe, whose real name was Mustafa Aslan, has passed away at the hospital where he was receiving treatment in Antalya.
The famous artist's daughter, Venda Altuntaş, announced the news of his passing on her social media account with the note, "We are very sad."
According to the statement made by his family, the funeral will be taken from Antalya to Adıyaman on Sunday. On the same day, a ceremony will be held at the cultural center in Kahta that bears his name, and he will be laid to rest in the municipal cemetery following the noon prayer.

Claims that the artist had throat cancer had surfaced. In response to these rumors, Kahtalı Mıçe had stated, "It is not true that I have throat cancer. However, I do have health problems. Two masses were detected on my small intestine. That is why I am undergoing chemotherapy. My treatment process is ongoing; I am a bit tired, but I am fine. Please do not believe baseless news," and had asked for prayers from his fans.
WHO IS KAHTALI MIÇE?
Born in 1953 in the Kahta district of Adıyaman, Kahtalı Mıçe, whose real name was Mustafa Aslan, spent his childhood years working in cotton fields.
He began singing folk songs in Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Istanbul, and Şanlıurfa when he was just 17 years old. He worked at the Provincial Directorate of Physical Education for a period. The artist moved to Istanbul in 1991 and later settled in Şanlıurfa.
As one of the names who left his mark on Turkish folk music, Kahtalı Mıçe performed the works of masters such as Nuri Sesigüzel, Ahmet Sezgin, Sami Kasap, and Mahsuni Şerif, and released 30 albums throughout his career.
