Dark Tranquillity is coming to Turkey

The famous music group Dark Tranquillity will be guests at Jolly Joker in Ankara on April 4, 2024, and at IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş for their Istanbul concert on April 5, 2024.

The foundations of Dark Tranquillity were laid in early 1989. Vocalist Anders Friden (In Flames), guitarist Niklas Sundin, rhythm guitarist Mikael Stanne, bassist Martin Henriksson, and drummer Anders Jivarp came together and began making music under the name "Septic Broiler."

The group, which released 2 demo works under this name, later took the name Dark Tranquillity and released their first album, Skydancer, which would make a name for itself in the Gothenburg school.

In this album, Anna Kajsa Avehall helped the group on vocals as a guest artist. After the album was released, Anders Friden left the group and Mikael Stanne took on the role of vocalist.

With Mikael taking over the vocals, the foundations of the group's uncompromising and energetic sound were laid. They filled the guitar gap by adding Friedrik Johansson to their group.

With the new lineup, they made the EP titled Of Chaos And Eternal Night in 1994 and then the album The Gallery in 1995. The album received great acclaim and brought the group great success.

The tracks Lethe and Punish My Heaven from the album still remain at the forefront as staples of all Dark Tranquillity concerts.

After The Gallery, the group released the album The Mind's I in 1997, continuing their success, and landed a deal with the famous metal label Century Media with their 1999 album, Projector. According to the group members, Projector was "an album ahead of its time."

The electronic elements it contained and "Stanne"'s clean vocals took the group a step further and prepared the infrastructure for their current era.

The productive group Dark Tranquillity, which released the albums Haven, Damage Done, Character, Fiction, and Construct respectively after Projector, received full marks from critics with each album and advanced their music one step further.

The 'Atoma' album, which they released in 2016, opened a new page for the group and made them a pioneer of the Gothenburg style, revealing their connections to their old roots.

Reaching millions of fans in their 34-year professional career, 'Dark Tranquillity' released their latest album, 'Moment,' in 2020.
