Director Shinya Kawatsura arrives in Turkey: 'I am happy that my film is being screened'
World-renowned director Shinya Kawatsura has arrived in Turkey for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Turkey. The film 'The House of the Lost on the Cape', directed by Kawatsura, was presented to the audience. The famous director said, "I am very happy and honored that my film is being screened."

The Consulate General of Japan and the Japan Foundation held a film screening event at the Atlas 1948 Cinema, specially organized for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Japan.
The invitation, which aims to develop relations between Japan and Turkey, was attended by Istanbul Deputy Governor Özlem Bozkurt Gevrek, Consul General of Japan in Istanbul Kasahara Kenichi, and world-renowned director Shinya Kawatsura.
A special opening speech was held before the screening of Shinya Kawatsura's film 'The House of the Lost on the Cape', which offers a mystical look at the feeling of nostalgia and rural life.

Speaking about the importance of the friendship between the two peoples, Consul General of Japan in Istanbul Kasahara Kenichi said in his speech, "I am very happy to host director Shinya Kawatsura here today at the Atlas 1948 Cinema and to be organizing a commemorative film screening.
I hope that this year, in which we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, during which we will continue to organize various anniversary events in both countries throughout the year, will be a new year that will be etched into the history of friendship between Japan and Turkey," he said.

Director Shinya Kawatsura, who reflects a portrait of Japanese society from an extraordinary perspective, expressed his gratitude by saying, "I am very happy and honored that I am able to present to you the work titled 'The House of the Lost on the Cape', which I directed, and that I have been given this opportunity."
