The 77th Cannes Film Festival kicked off with an opening ceremony held the day before yesterday.
The festival, which will conclude on May 25, saw the jury members walk the red carpet. Ebru Ceylan, who is on the jury chaired by "Barbie" director Greta Gerwig, appeared before the world press alongside the other jury members.
'I AM EXCITED'
Ebru Ceylan, one of the screenwriters of the 2014 Palme d'Or-winning film "Winter Sleep," spoke before the opening: "Festivals and awards do not point to an absolute result for evaluating a film. Thinking and talking about films is very important to me. But it is also a great responsibility. I am very excited to be here as a jury member."
FESTIVAL JURY
In addition to Ebru Ceylan, the jury chaired by Greta Gerwig includes "Killers of the Flower Moon" star Lily Gladstone, French actress Eva Green, Lebanese director Nadine Labaki, Spanish director-screenwriter Juan Antonio Bayona, Italian actor Pierfrancesco Favino, Japanese director Kore-eda Hirokazu, and French actor Omar Sy.
