Entry with Palestinian flag banned at Eurovision

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) stated in an announcement that those attempting to enter the Malmö Arena, where the Eurovision Song Contest will take place, with Palestinian flags or banners containing political messages will be stopped, and their flags or banners will be confiscated.

In a statement from the Swedish Palestine Group, it was reported that Israel's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest on May 11 will be protested in the city of Malmö.

The statement noted that local artists will also take the stage at the protest under the name 'Genocide-Free Song Contest'.

100 THOUSAND PROTESTERS EXPECTED

According to a report by the Swedish state television SVT, Malmö Police Department spokesperson Nils Norling said they estimate that 100 thousand protesters will arrive in the city.

Stating that they will take extensive security measures to prevent incidents during the demonstrations, Norling announced that police teams from Norway and Denmark will also come to Malmö to provide support.
