Mercan Aslani announced in a written statement on her social media account that her husband, Faramarz Aslani, had passed away from cancer.
The Iranian pop artist, who died at the age of 69 in a hospital where he was receiving treatment in Maryland, USA, had his song "Age Ye Rooz" adapted into Turkish by Ajda Pekkan under the title "Dile kolay".
