Farewell to master Yeşilçam actor Engin Çağlar

Famous actor Engin Çağlar lost his life as a result of an unfortunate accident in Şişli. The 83-year-old artist was laid to rest with a ceremony held at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.

Engin Çağlar, one of the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema, lost his life after being struck by a motorcycle while trying to cross the street in Istanbul's Şişli district. Many figures from the art world attended the funeral ceremony held at Şişli Mosque for the 83-year-old master actor. Following the ceremony, Çağlar was laid to rest at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.

The accident that led to Engin Çağlar's death was captured by security cameras in the vicinity. The footage shows Çağlar falling to the ground after being struck by a speeding motorcycle while attempting to cross the road. The 21-year-old motorcycle driver involved in the accident, Berkay O., was arrested by the court and sent to Metris Prison.

DEEP SORROW IN THE ART WORLD

Çağlar's sudden death caused great sorrow in the art community and among his fans. The master actor's close friend Ediz Hun also attended the funeral to perform his final duty. It was learned that Çağlar had been deemed worthy of the Honorary Award to be presented by the Film-San Foundation on November 17, and that he had received this news with great happiness.

Engin Çağlar was born in Istanbul in the 1940s.
