Funeral arrangements announced for Yeşilçam’s ‘Golden Boy’ Göksel Arsoy
Master actor Göksel Arsoy, who passed away at the age of 90, will be laid to rest on October 7 following a funeral prayer at the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque.

The funeral arrangements for master actor Göksel Arsoy, known as the “Golden Boy” of Turkish cinema, have been finalized. A funeral prayer for Arsoy, who passed away at the age of 90, will be held at the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque at noon on October 7.
According to information shared by the artist’s daughter, Aşkım Arsoy, on her social media account, Göksel Arsoy’s body will be laid to rest at the Zincirlikuyu Cemetery following the funeral prayer.
Born in Kayseri on March 15, 1936, Göksel Arsoy worked at Yeşilköy Airport while studying at the Istanbul University Faculty of Economics. After catching the attention of producer Fuat Rutkay and director Sırrı Gültekin, he stepped into cinema in 1957 with the film “Kara Günlerim” (My Dark Days).
Arsoy quickly became one of the prominent actors of Yeşilçam with the films “Kelepçe” (Handcuffs) and “Samanyolu” (Milky Way). Sharing the lead role with Belgin Doruk in the 1959 film “Samanyolu” marked a significant turning point in his career. Arsoy and Doruk starred together in 15 films, becoming one of the most beloved cinema couples of the era.
In addition to acting, Arsoy also worked as a producer, establishing his own film company and producing 12 works. Bringing his interest in aviation to cinema, the artist served as both producer and lead actor in the 1963 film “Şafak Bekçileri” (Guardians of the Dawn).
Göksel Arsoy secured his place among the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema through his acting, producer identity, musical endeavors, and projects across various genres in Yeşilçam.
