April 11, 2025 new movie releases: What's in theaters this week?

Today marks the start of a release week filled with local and foreign films across various genres. On Friday, April 11, productions in many genres such as science fiction, thriller, animation, and drama are meeting with moviegoers, inviting audiences into distinct worlds.

Highlights of this week include the legendary Inception, which is returning to theaters, and new releases such as The Amateur, Drop, Armand, Yaga and the Magic Book, and Çakallarla Dans 7.

THE AMATEUR

Directed by James Hawes and starring Rami Malek, Laurence Fishburne, and Rachel Brosnahan, The Amateur follows the story of a CIA cryptographer who demands his superiors track down those responsible for his wife's tragic death in a terrorist attack in London.

When authorities refuse to act, Charlie takes matters into his own hands and embarks on a dangerous journey to find the culprits. His intelligence will be his most powerful weapon to evade those chasing him and to exact his revenge.

ARMAND

Written and directed by Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel, the Northern European film Armand tells the story of two children and their parents who face an accusation that causes chaos.

Shortly before the school holidays, the parents of young Armand and Jon are summoned by the administration following an incident at school. The accusation leveled against the two children causes an uproar, but no one knows what really happened. Parents and school staff enter into a debate about what might have occurred, and the meeting quickly spirals out of control. Before long, chaos ensues...

YAGA AND THE MAGIC BOOK

Sure to capture the interest of children and animation enthusiasts, Yaga and the Magic Book follows the story of Yaga and her friends as they embark on a challenging adventure to find a lost book.

Red-haired Yaga lives in a small hut in a fairy-tale kingdom with her inventor cat and cheerful friends. Trying to master magic, Yaga must find the lost "Magic Book" to achieve her goal. The book was stolen years ago by the evil Belladonna. Yaga and her friends set out on a difficult adventure to find the missing spellbook.

ÇAKALLARLA DANS 7

The new film in the beloved Çakallarla Dans series, starring Şevket Çoruh, Timur Acar, and Murat Akkoyunlu, follows the adventures of the team as they travel to İzmir to work on organizing a beauty pageant.

The discovery of numerous raw diamonds on the contestants' costumes causes a stir. The pageant organized by King Mustafa is actually a front for the raw diamond trade he is conducting abroad. Nalan, who finds the diamonds, shakes the foundations of Mustafa's kingdom with the support of the "Çakallar" (Jackals).

DROP

One of this week's thrillers, Drop, follows the experiences of Violet, a widowed mother who goes on her first date in years.

When Violet arrives at a luxury restaurant, she is relieved to find that Henry, whom she is meeting, is more attractive and handsome than she expected. However, the chemistry between them begins to sour when Violet starts to get annoyed and then terrorized by a series of anonymous messages sent to her phone.

INCEPTION

Inception, one of Christopher Nolan's legendary films, is returning to theaters. The Oscar-winning science fiction film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a professional thief who steals information by infiltrating the subconscious.

Cobb, who is an international fugitive, is offered an opportunity that could allow him to escape his current situation. Instead of a perfect heist, this time Cobb must complete the impossible: an 'inception.' His task is not to steal an idea, but to plant one. If he succeeds, it will be the perfect crime...
