Comedy, horror, action... Which movies are in theaters this week? (December 20, 2024)

This week in cinemas, 9 films—five of which are domestic productions—ranging from action to comedy, horror and thriller to animation, will meet the audience.

ŞIMARIK

Starring Kerem Bürsin, Melis Sezen, and Erkan Kolçak Köstendil, "Şımarık" is set to attract the interest of romantic comedy enthusiasts.

Directed by Onur Ünlü, the film revolves around a wealthy father who, in an attempt to teach his spoiled son a lesson, convinces him that he is traveling through time, leading the son to believe he is in a village in the 16th-century Ottoman Empire.

"ON SANİYE"

"On Saniye," starring Bergüzar Korel, Bige Önal, and Defne Burnaz, will be released under the direction of Ceylan Özgün Özçelik.

The drama film focuses on a tense meeting between a student's mother and a guidance counselor at one of the country's most prestigious high schools.

"OFLU HOCA 4"

Directed by Özgür Bakar and starring Çetin Altay, Bilal Hancı, and Ufuk Özkan, the sequel "Oflu Hoca 4" tells the adventures of Oflu Hoca as he tries to expose the yoga gurus he suspects are scammers at a yoga camp he attends.

"AKILDAN KALBE"

Starring Kerem Alışık, Hande Soral, and Şenay Gürler, "Akıldan Kalbe" deals with the regret of a father whose family was torn apart due to mistakes made years ago and the family's reunion.

The drama film was written and directed by Özer Feyzioğlu.

"DÜZEN"

Directed by Justin Kurzel, "The Order" (Düzen) covers an event set in 1983, when bank and armored car robberies, which were increasing in violence in the US, shook the country's order.

The US, UK, and Canada co-production stars Jude Law, Nicholas Hoult, Marc Maron, Tye Sheridan, Odessa Young, and Jurnee Smollett.

"AŞKIN HÜKMÜ"

Directed by Heba Yousry, the Egyptian romantic comedy "Aşkın Hükmü" revolves around a deep friendship between two young people that dates back to their primary school days.

The film stars Mena Shalaby, Ahmed Dawood, Ahmad Khaled Saleh, and Sawsan Badr.

"MUFASA: ASLAN KRAL"

Directed by Oscar winner Barry Jenkins, the animated film "Mufasa: The Lion King" tells the story of the unexpected rise of Mufasa, the beloved king of the Pride Lands.

HORROR FILMS OF THE WEEK

The US-made "The Night of the Massacre" (Katliam Gecesi), starring Jessica Belkin, Taylor Kowalski, and Jeremy Sisto, focuses on a young woman working alone on the late shift.

"Gen 2," written and directed by Gökhan Murat Toktamışoğlu, deals with paranormal events that happen to a group of young people.
