Merve Dizdar, who was deemed worthy of the "Best Actress" award at the Cannes Film Festival for her performance in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's "About Dry Grasses", will be awarded the "Knight of Arts and Letters", one of France's significant honors.
Speaking on a program she attended on YouTube, Dizdar said, "After realizing a huge dream in Cannes, while I was thinking 'What more could happen?', I was named a knight."
The decoration will be presented to Merve Dizdar at a special ceremony to be held on January 28.
This honor, which France awards to individuals who have shown outstanding achievement in the fields of culture and art, was previously presented to Ajda Pekkan and Nuri Bilge Ceylan from Turkey.
