'Hesitation Wound' returns from Zurich Film Festival with an award
Selman Nacar's new film 'Hesitation Wound', which had its world premiere at the 80th Venice Film Festival, has returned from the main competition section of the Zurich Film Festival, one of the world's leading festivals, with the 'Best Film' award.

Competing in a section featuring 14 standout discovery films from around the world, 'Hesitation Wound' won the Golden Eye Award, given for best film.
Attending the awards ceremony, director Selman Nacar expressed his feelings in his speech on stage: "First of all, I would like to thank the festival and the esteemed jury for their appreciation. Such beautiful moments give one hope and strength on the challenging journey of cinema. I hope that through this, the film will reach more people and make the audience think about the concept of justice, which we need even more today."
PLOT OF THE FILM HESITATION WOUND
Written and directed by Selman Nacar, 'Hesitation Wound' tells the story of Lawyer Canan, who must face her own conscience on the day of the sentencing hearing for a murder suspect she has long defended and believes to be innocent. The film stars Tülin Özen, accompanied by Oğulcan Arman Uslu, Gülçin Kültür Şahin, Vedat Erincin, and Erdem Şenocak.
Produced by Kuyu Film, Fol Film, Karma Films, TRT, BKM Mutfak, Sev Yapım, Nephilim Producciones, Point Film, and Arizona Productions, the filming of 'Hesitation Wound' took place in Uşak in 2022.
The world rights for the film were acquired by Magnolia Pictures, which also represents international Oscar-nominated films such as Shoplifters, The Square, and A War. The film, a co-production between Turkey, Spain, Romania, and France, was completed with the support of the San Sebastian Film Festival WIP, Cinelink, Arras Days, First Cut Lab, 12 Punto, Meetings on the Bridge, and the Antalya Film Forum.
