Honorary and labor awards for the 56th SİYAD Awards announced

According to the statement made by SİYAD, the "Honorary Award" will be presented to director Tomris Giritlioğlu and actress and singer Lale Belkıs, while the "Labor Award" will be given to actor Necmettin Çobanoğlu at the ceremony to be held on March 4 this year.

Director Tomris Giritlioğlu, who focused on Turkey's recent history, masterfully depicted in cinema how social and political events affect people's lives.

Lale Belkıs, who made significant contributions to Turkish cinema with her singing as well as her acting, provided the voice for Sophia Loren, Ava Gardner, and Cahide Sonku.

Necmettin Çobanoğlu, who acted in films that won the Palme d'Or and the Oscar, appeared in productions such as "Katırcılar" (The Muleteers), "Mülteci" (Refugee), "Küçük Özgürlük" (Small Freedom), "Kuzu" (The Lamb), "Karşılaşma" (Encounter), "Eve Dönüş" (Homecoming), "Saklı Düşler" (Hidden Dreams), and "Güz Sancısı" (Pains of Autumn).

A CAREER INTERTWINED WITH CINEMA

Tomris Giritlioğlu, who decided to become a director while she was a university student, drew attention with the documentaries "Tabletten Belgesele" (From Tablet to Documentary) and "Beyoğlu," as well as the TV film "Kantodan Tangoya" (From Kanto to Tango), which she produced within TRT.

Having a career intertwined with TV and cinema, Giritlioğlu brought her first feature film, "Suyun Öte Yanı" (The Other Side of the Water), to audiences in 1991.

While Giritlioğlu solidified her career in cinema with "Yaz Yağmuru" (Summer Rain), "80. Adım" (The 80th Step), "Salkım Hanımın Taneleri" (Mrs. Salkım's Diamonds), and "Güz Sancısı" (Pains of Autumn), she also enabled the realization of many important series, including "Asi," "Gönülçelen," and "Hatırla Sevgili" (Remember Dear).

STARTED HER CAREER IN 1960

Lale Belkıs, who made significant contributions to our cinema with her singing as well as her acting, began her career in 1960 with theater. Belkıs, who acted in plays such as "Evlilik Dolabı" (The Marriage Closet), "Boeing Boeing," and "Becerikli Kaynana" (The Capable Mother-in-Law), transferred to Yeşilçam in the mid-1960s.

Belkıs, who acted in many productions including "Bitmeyen Korku" (The Neverending Fear), "Tarkan," "Sezercik Yavrum Benim," "Dağınık Yatak" (Messy Bed), and "Beyaz Melek" (White Angel), also performed many songs used in films.

Belkıs, who worked at İpek Film Studio for a period, provided the voice for Sophia Loren, Ava Gardner, and Cahide Sonku.

MADE A NAME FOR HERSELF WITH 'YOL'

Necmettin Çobanoğlu is one of those laboring actors who moved from behind the camera to in front of it. However, his greatest distinction is being one of the rare actors to have performed in films that won both the Palme d'Or and the Oscar. Çobanoğlu entered the world of cinema by working on the sets of dozens of films, including "Demiryol" (Railway), "Kanal" (The Canal), "Dila Hanım," "Baraj" (The Dam), and "Üç Arkadaş" (Three Friends).

Çobanoğlu, who actively participated in the struggle for the rights of cinema workers for years, acted in TV series in addition to many award-winning films.
