The life of Kazım Koyuncu, one of the pioneers of Black Sea music and remembered as the "Poet-Jacketed Boy," is being adapted for the cinema. The life story of the artist, who passed away at the young age of 33 on June 25, 2005, will meet audiences through the film project titled "Kâzım." Preparations for the project are continuing at full speed.

While the screenplay is written by Murat Uyurkulak, Erman Bostan, and Özcan Alper, director Özcan Alper, who has long aimed to bring this project to life, had previously emphasized in interviews that telling Kazım Koyuncu's story carries a great responsibility. Alper had underscored that he was waiting for the right time to convey the life of an artist he admired and who inspired him in the most accurate way possible.

The lead actor for the closely followed film has also been determined. Successful actor Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu will bring the character of Kazım Koyuncu to life.

Üzümoğlu has embarked on a comprehensive study to prepare for his role. The famous actor has begun taking vocal training to reflect the artist's unique musical identity and is working with Uğur Baburhan during this process.

The production team is also preparing to use special makeup techniques to ensure Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu bears a closer resemblance to Kazım Koyuncu.

While the rest of the cast continues to be finalized, filming for the project is planned to begin in the summer months.
