The new Hunger Games film, "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping," will be directed by Francis Lawrence. This film will be the second prequel in the series following "The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes," which was released in 2023.

According to a report by People magazine, Kieran Culkin will take on the role of Caesar Flickerman in the sixth film of the series, replacing Stanley Tucci, who previously portrayed the character. Producer Erin Westerman stated that Culkin was an “ideal choice” for the role.

The film will be adapted from Suzanne Collins’ novel of the same name, which is set to be published in 2025. The story takes place 24 years before the start of the original series and focuses on the youth of the character Haymitch Abernathy, played by Woody Harrelson. Young Haymitch will struggle to survive in the 50th Hunger Games.
