Nazım Hikmet to be commemorated in Eskişehir

The Nazım Hikmet Commemoration, which has not been held in Eskişehir for many years, is being brought back to life through the cooperation of the Writers Syndicate of Turkey (TYS), Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality (EBB), Odunpazarı Municipality, Tepebaşı Municipality, and Seyitgazi Municipality.

The Nazım Hikmet Commemoration Days will be held on June 1 and 2 through the cooperation of the Writers Syndicate of Turkey (TYS), Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality (EBB), Odunpazarı Municipality, Tepebaşı Municipality, and Seyitgazi Municipality.

Nazım Hikmet Ran, a great master of Turkish poetry and an important figure in world literature, will be commemorated in Eskişehir with events organized for the 60th anniversary of his passing.

PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

As part of the commemoration days, a panel moderated by Emel İrtem, with speakers Mahmut Temizyürek and Altay Öktem, will be held on Saturday, June 1, at the Yunus Emre Culture and Art Center (YKSM) between 14:00 and 15:30. A musical performance by Onur Gül will take place between 15:30 and 16:30, followed by the play 'Why Did Benerji Kill Himself?' performed by the Eskişehir People's Stage between 16:45 and 17:45.

The commemoration ceremony for Nazım Hikmet will be held on Sunday, June 2, at 14:30 at the Nazım Hikmet Memorial Tomb in Doğançayır. Following the ceremony, a musical performance by Naki Karamaşa will take place at 16:00 at the Doğançayır Nazım Hikmet Park.

All citizens are invited to attend the events, which will be held free of charge.
