State Theaters General Manager Tamer Karadağlı: 'I do not feel trapped'

With the participation of State Theaters General Manager Tamer Karadağlı, the Erzurum State Theater opened its season in its new building with the play "Ana-Dolu: The Brave and Lost Women of the National Struggle."

Speaking at the opening of the new theater building, State Theaters General Manager Tamer Karadağlı said, "The longing has ended. Warm hearts hosted us in a hospital garden for 7 years, bringing us together. Now, we have finally met with you on our own stage."

The opening of the new State Theater building was attended by State Theaters Deputy General Manager Emre Başer, Deputy Governor Lokman Düzgün, Yakutiye District Governor Tuncay Kaldırım, Provincial Police Chief Kadir Yırtar, Provincial Director of National Education Yakup Yıldız, guests, and theater enthusiasts.

'WE ARE WITH YOU WITH A MODERN AND PEACEFUL APPROACH'

Explaining that they are changing and developing in the field of art as State Theaters, Karadağlı stated, "We are saying hello to you again with an innovative, pluralistic, modern, courageous, fast-producing, and peaceful approach, blending Turkish Theater with local and national heritage. Our goal is to bring this approach to the people of Erzurum."

'WE ARE MOVING FORWARD MORE DECISIVELY AND COURAGEOUSLY'

Continuing his remarks, Karadağlı said, "My fellow actors should know the value of being on stage. There are, of course, some obligations that come with administrative duty. We will set out with a new energy and vision. At this point, because I do not come from a civil service background, I can move forward more decisively and courageously, and I do not feel trapped in certain molds.

I hope this situation will be a plus for our theater. We must do what we can and strive to return the State Theaters to their former glorious days," he concluded.
