According to the statement made by the Izmir State Opera and Ballet, the "Hunchback of Notre Dame" ballet, which has been meeting with audiences for three seasons and has received acclaim, was adapted for the stage from Victor Hugo's novel of the same name.
The music for the ballet was composed by Cesare Pugni, with musical arrangement by Bujor Hoinic. The choreography and libretto for the "Hunchback of Notre Dame" ballet were prepared by Göksel Armağan Davran and Ahmet Volkan Ersoy.
In the production, where Tolga Taviş serves as the orchestra conductor, Çağda Çitkaya will undertake the set design, and Gülay Korkut will handle the costume design.
In the work, the three-hour makeup process for the bell-ringer Quasimodo, characterized by his many physical disabilities and ugliness, as well as the magnificent sets appropriate to the period of the work, will be presented to the audience.
"The Hunchback of Notre Dame" can be watched on February 1, 3, 6, 8, 10 and March 2, 4, 6 at the Bornova Culture and Art Center Necdet Aydın Stage.
