The 'queen of Arabesque', Esengül, is joining the list of artists whose lives are being adapted for cinema.
The sudden death of Esengül, who left her mark on the 70s, had plunged the music world into mourning. The life story of the successful artist, filled with secrets and ending 45 years ago with many unanswered questions, will be brought to the big screen in the film "Uçurumda Açan Çiçek: Esengül" (Flower Blooming on the Cliff: Esengül).
A meticulous effort is underway for the project, with the screenplay and production handled by Özgür Selvi, who was also among the screenwriters of the box-office record-breaking film "Bergen".

The film's cast will be announced soon. The film crew will begin shooting in the summer of 2024.
