Adapted from Samuel D. Hunter’s play of the same name and brought to the Turkish theater stage for the first time, the play 'The Whale' continues to meet with theatergoers.

The Whale is a play about forgiveness...
A farewell, selfishness, loneliness, longing, Moby Dick, missing someone dearly, shame, missing someone so, so dearly...
The Whale is the story of people who are very fragile, breakable at any moment, and precisely because of that, capable of breaking others at any moment.
That’s what family is, very fragile.
Especially if you know that the remorse that has been waiting for you your whole life is knocking at your door. If your daughter was two years old and you left without even looking back, or if you never thought about the fact that you broke a tiny heart, then it is much more fragile.
What do you have in your hands?
Will you say I fell in love? Will you say I don’t know? Will you wait for her to forgive you in silence?
Or... Will you wait for a few sentences written by your child, whom you couldn't be there for in time, with tears behind a whale, to save you?
Maybe you ask... Maybe she tells you that she never forgot the vacation you went on, that she looked at the sea and wondered if the whales were there, describing the sun hitting her eyes and the sand pricking her feet at that very moment.
Afterwards, she tells you that she always stayed under the sun like those grains of sand, that she always waited for you, looked at the sea, and thought that one day you would come from that infinity and smile at her.
