An electric tram produced in a private workshop in Denizli will be featured in events to be held in Denizli for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye. The tram, which is 95 percent domestically produced, takes its passengers on a nostalgic journey with the music it plays.

TOURED THE CITY

The tram, which will take part in the celebrations to be held over the weekend, attracted the attention of citizens as it toured the streets throughout the night. Citizens who saw it on the road grabbed their cameras to immortalize the moment. Those who watched the moments with curious eyes for minutes did not neglect to take photos with the nostalgic vehicle. The tram, which went on a city tour for about 1 hour, ended its journey in front of the Denizli Chamber of Commerce.

'WE EXPORTED TO 30 COUNTRIES'

Explaining that they export their products to many cities and are happy that their work is included in the 100th-anniversary events, Tahir Öztürk said, "We started manufacturing electric vehicles in 2010. We started with children's trains for shopping malls in the first stage. We exported that product to approximately 30 countries. Later, we received requests for trams. As you know, the Taksim tram has become a symbol across Türkiye. Inspired by this, we made a rubber-tired and battery-powered version of this vehicle."
