Timeline for the new James Bond's identity becomes clearer: Producer Amy Pascal points to the end of the year

A new milestone has appeared in the wait for the lead role in the James Bond series following the Daniel Craig era. Producer Amy Pascal stated that the identity of the actor who will play the next 007 could be announced within this year.

In an interview regarding the film *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, which she is producing, Pascal responded to a question about the timing of the announcement by saying, 'I think the end of the year is a good guess.' The producer noted that the process is being handled carefully, pointing out that expectations are high for the person who will take over the role after Daniel Craig.

'We are really, really moving very systematically. Having worked with Barbara Broccoli at the studio, I can say that it is very difficult to fill Daniel Craig's shoes. And what emerges must be something provocative, exciting, and truly different.'

Craig concluded his 15-year Bond era with the 2021 film *No Time To Die*. Since that date, the names of many actors have been mentioned for the new face of the series, but no official announcement has been made.

Names such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, Jack Lowden, Louis Partridge, and Tom Francis are being mentioned among the potential candidates. However, there is no choice confirmed by the production team.

Following the last film, the 007 series moved under the umbrella of Amazon MGM Studios. The studio took over this responsibility from Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, who held creative control of the series for many years.

Denis Villeneuve is expected to sit in the director's chair for Bond 26. The film's screenplay is being written by *Peaky Blinders* creator Steven Knight. Production is planned to begin in 2027, with the film scheduled for release in 2028.
