Tolga Karaçelik premieres his new film in New York
Tolga Karaçelik's new film, "The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided To Write About A Serial Killer," held its world premiere in New York. The dark comedy was filmed over 22 days at various locations across New York, with post-production work carried out in New York, Los Angeles, and Istanbul.

Director Tolga Karaçelik, known for his films "Gişe Memuru" (Press), "Sarmaşık" (Ivy), and "Kelebekler" (Butterflies), met with audiences for the first time in New York—where the film was also shot—for "The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided To Write About A Serial Killer," his fourth feature film and his first in English.
Selected for the Spotlight section of the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival, which runs from June 5 to 16, the film held its world premiere on Saturday, June 8, at the SVA Theatre.
In addition to Karaçelik, the film's lead actors, U.S. stars Steve Buscemi, Britt Lower, and John Magaro, attended the screening.

The film is produced by Curious Gremlin, founded by Sinan Eczacıbaşı, Alihan Yalçındağ, and Scott Aharoni, alongside Olive Productions, owned by Wren Arthur and Steve Buscemi, as well as Tolga Karaçelik and Alex Peace Power.
FILM SYNOPSIS
"The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided To Write About A Serial Killer" follows the accidental and bizarre friendship between a writer struggling through a divorce and a retired serial killer who provides him with advice on his marriage during the day and on the killing methods for the serial murders he is writing about in his new book at night.
