American actor Tony Ganios, known for films such as 'The Wanderers', 'Porky's' and 'Rising Sun', has passed away.

Ganios' family stated, "He left us at the age of 64 due to a heart attack."

WHO IS TONY GANIOS?

Tony Ganios (October 21, 1959 – February 18, 2024) was an American actor. He played the tough guy Perry in the 1979 film The Wanderers and Anthony 'Meat' Tuperello in the 1981 comedy Porky's and its sequels.

Ganios appeared as Mike "Mooch" Cacciatore in five episodes of the 1980s series Wiseguy and was a guest star in one episode of the series Scarecrow and Mrs. King.

Ganios semi-retired from acting after Rising Sun, appearing briefly in three films between 1991 and 1993, where he revisited the matchstick-chewing hero of The Wanderers as an adversary to Sean Connery.

He is also known for his recurring comedic role as a muscular mob lawyer in the Emmy Award-winning series Wiseguy (1987).

Ganios died on February 18, 2024, at the age of 64, after being hospitalized due to a spinal cord infection.
