It has been announced that the Tourist Salt Express, which aims to introduce the historical and cultural beauties of Çankırı to domestic and foreign visitors, will make its first voyage from Ankara on May 18.

In a statement made by the North Anatolian Development Agency (KUZKA), it was stated that the Ankara-based Tourist Salt Express promises a brand-new experience for those who love day-trip train travel on weekends.
The statement, which noted that the Tourist Salt Express serves as a continuation of the Tenezzüh (Excursion) Train voyages carried out in Çankırı 90 years ago, said: "The Tourist Salt Express will carry its passengers from the past to the future. With the train services organized in cooperation with the Çankırı Governorship, Çankırı Municipality, and the North Anatolian Development Agency (KUZKA), it is aimed to increase tourism activity in the region.
The first voyage of the Tourist Salt Express will depart from Ankara Station on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 07:50. After a pleasant journey, it will take its passengers into the past with the history-scented streets of Çankırı, the fascinating Underground Salt City, boutique museums, and local delicacies. The tourist train, which has a capacity of approximately 250 passengers, will return to Ankara at 19:40 on the same day after completing the Çankırı program" were the expressions used.
It was stated that visitors who wish to participate in the Tourist Salt Express tours, which will be organized as day trips on May 18, May 25, June 1, and June 8, can purchase tickets from travel agencies. The statement emphasized that KUZKA will provide support to A-group travel agencies affiliated with TÜRSAB that will organize tour programs for the Tourist Salt Express within the scope of the "2024 Discover the Western Black Sea Alternative Support Program" it is conducting.
It was noted that agencies wishing to benefit from the support can apply to KUZKA with projects for tours they will organize until November 30, 2024, and that the deadline for applications has been announced as Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 23:59.
