Türkan Şoray takes the stage at AKM: 'I'm glad I became a film actress'

Master actress Türkan Şoray attended the 'Türkan Şoray's Infinite Symphony' event organized by Netsanat. A short video depicting Şoray's life story was also shown at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM).

The Netsanat Symphony Orchestra performed songs from films in which Şoray starred, including "Mavi Eşarp," "Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım," "Dila Hanım," "Bodrum Hakimi," "Artık Sevmeyeceğim," "Yılanı Öldürseler," "Sultan," "Dert Bende," and "Kara Gözlüm."

Taking the stage during the concert, which featured soloists Melis Kızılaslan, Zeynep Burcu Altınel, and Hande Everes, Şoray thanked those who contributed to the event and those who came to watch, saying, "Welcome. I see all my loved ones. How beautiful, how happy I am. Coming together with you here today, listening to my songs, and watching them together has made me extremely happy. This night is a very special night for me."

'WE CANNOT IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT MUSIC'

Explaining the importance of music in her own life and mentioning that she once took music lessons at a club run by İlham Gencer, the artist expressed the following:

"As you know, music is the food of the soul. We cannot imagine a world without music. There has always been beautiful music in the films I made. Today, we will listen to this music together with this magnificent symphony orchestra. I forgot what I was going to say out of excitement. I owe all of this, the beauty of this night, to cinema. Long live cinema. I'm glad I became a film actress."

At the end of the event, which lasted approximately two hours, the artist performed the songs "Sevemedim Kara Gözlüm" and "Azize."
